Paramount+ revealed the trailer for Yellow stone prequel just after the last episode of the original series aired last Sunday. Even though fans weren’t too happy with what Taylor Sheridan did with the Yellow stone finale, they expect it to deliver a satisfying second and probably final season to 1923.

However, one fan theory suggests that Sheridan is doomed to ruin the second season by sidelining a character. Fans are expecting the second season to bring Spencer Dutton back from Sklenar to Montana and unleash his fury on the enemies of the ranch. However, fan theory suggests that he wouldn’t be able to do so due to a potential storyline.

1923 Season 2 theory suggests Taylor Sheridan would sideline Brandon Sklenar’s character

THE 1923 Season 2 the trailer shows that this season would pick up from where the first season ended. Harrison Fordit’s Jacob Dutton and Helene Mirren‘s Cara Dutton prepares for an all-out fight against Timothy Dalton’s Donald Whitfield, who has set his sights on the ranch.

Brandon Sklenar‘s Spencer Dutton will return to Bozeman, Montana. His wife Alexandra, who separated from him in the first season finale, would probably also come looking for him. As things head towards an exciting climax, one theory suggests that Taylor Sheridan could potentially ruin everything.

Throughout the first season, Cara Dutton waited for Spencer Dutton to return to the ranch. She wants her nephew in Yellowstone so they can repel their enemies more powerfully. Fans have already seen Spencer’s unique skills in the first season and they really want him at the center of the fight in Montana.

However, Redditor u/MojaveJoe1992 shares a theory suggesting that Sheridan might just throw all expectations about Sklenar’s character out the window. The trailer saw Jacob Dutton waiting for Spencer at the train station and the fan noted how Ford’s character pulled out his Colt M1911 from inside his jacket in the trailer.

The fan speculated that something was going to go horribly wrong at the station, even suggesting that a shootout would take place between the Duttons and the enemy. The fan speculated that this encounter would seriously injure Spencer and leave him in a similar state to Jacob in the first season. In Spencer’s absence, Jacob and eventually Jack Dutton would assume responsibility for defending their ranch.

Needless to say, fans think it’s a horrible idea. The first season gave the idea that Spencer was somehow the Duttons’ last hope after the death of his brother John Sr. u/Boner604 said they would like to see Sheridan releases Spencer Dutton in the second season.

What does season two have in store for Taylor Sheridan? 1923?

The Duttons are going to keep the ranch, which isn’t much of a cliffhanger considering Kevin Costner’s John Dutton still owned the ranch in the original series. However, the second season isn’t going to make this journey any easier for the Dutton family led by Harrison Ford’s Jacob Dutton. The synopsis of the second season of 1923 bed (via THR):

It can be inferred from the synopsis that it may take Spencer longer to reach the Dutton ranch, given his “difficult” return trip. He has already had a long and difficult journey. Things would be even more difficult for Alexandra, who could face potential problems entering the United States.
