Kazakhstan could create aviation fuel operator

ASTANA. December 23 (Interfax) – The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of creating a single operator to supply aviation fuel, said Transport Minister Marat Karabayev.

“One of our main priorities is to supply airports with aviation fuel. Currently, airports have to purchase the fuel from neighboring countries. We intend to create a single operator to solve the problem of shortage of aviation fuel,” Karabayev said at the conference. government time Monday in the lower house of Kazakhstan’s parliament, the Majilis.

The new operator will be organized and based at KazMunayGas-Aero LLP.

This measure should help eliminate inefficient intermediaries, stabilize the supply of aviation fuel and provide affordable prices for transit flights through Kazakhstan if they purchase the fuel in large quantities, the minister said.

Organized in 2014 as a subsidiary of JSC KazMunayGas National Company, KazMunayGas-Aero LLP is the sole supplier of TS-1/RT jet fuel to the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan and the centralized supplier of gasoline, diesel, fuel oil and fuel aviation. .
