Casagrande: A Christmas poem for you, a crazy year in review

A new tradition and my Christmas gift to you, a poem I wrote over a year in review.

—-

Ring, ring, ring-a-ling.

We’ve got some rhymes to throw around.

The prose can wait.

It’s all fun, no hate.

Let’s try our first Christmas poem.

And remember that some words are difficult to rhyme, so I will do my best and appreciate your understanding.

You may know Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and Vixen.

Wommack, don’t be stupid…Nick Saban would be a blitzen!

The GOAT has retired; biggest of the year history.

And now he’s going after cable TV glory.

But he I can’t beat Miss Terry against the spread.

Six months in the media must have made him lower his head.

So Alabama went and hired Kalen DeBoer.

Watch a press conference, it will make you snore.

THE rants are finished; no more contempt.

With the dump in this rusty tin horn.

The new guy smiles and wears a t-shirt.

Ouch, that trip to Vanderbilt really hurt.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

With the transfer portal buzzing.

Five stars that come and go.

Auburn has a quarterback, there’s nothing to worry about!

Except Diego Pavia. Hugh Freeze’s nightmare could return.

Three games. Three defeats. A fourth would really be AuBURN.

Sorry.

Santa Claus drives a sleigh, Freeze drives a bus.

Regarding his quarterback, no time to pick on him.

Except to the side judge near the Tiger sideline.

Another loss to Missouri and he won’t do too well.

But he’s a recruiting legend, he just signed another one top 10 class!

However, it is time to win. The Iron Bowl newbie just kicked your butt.

On this foggy Christmas Eve, it’s basketball season in a basketball state.

The big guy with the red face comes in with something to say.

Alabama now has a Final Four banner.

Auburn would too, but Yale can play.

We are now much more than a football state in 2024.

With a bright future ahead, we are ready to do more.

Greg Byrne wants your money. You dive into your savings.

Players need your money or they go to Sip.

They will miss the SEC Championship once again.

I just needed something that rhymed with Kiffin.

He blows the big shot, but they’ll win the tailgate.

Troll yourself on Twitter, a sad clown and his twist.

Jostling on a plane.

Readers will complain.

A Christmas poem that goes off the rails.

Here are the emails.

But it’s all love.

I come in peace. Release the dove.

Santa Claus is on the roof. The elves are smoking a cigarette.

This year is almost over and the stories were big.

Nick Saban is small but his shadow is huge.

Mrs. Claus hits the eggnog sled.

So Merry Christmas to everyone and good night to everyone.

I hope you liked my poem, it was really hard to find words to rhyme but I tried my best and that’s what matters the most!
