Mumbai: Actress Sai Pallavi, The actress, who will be playing Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, came under criticism after an old video of hers resurfaced on the internet.

In the clip, he points out that the Indian army is seen as a “terrorist group” in Pakistan, drawing attention to the conflicting perception that exists between the two countries. In a video that has gone viral, Pallavi is heard saying: “People in Pakistan think our army is a terrorist group. But for us, they are. So the perspective is changing. I don’t understand the violence.” The viral clip comes from an interview conducted in January 2022. When the video resurfaced, netizens reacted angrily to her remarks and condemned the actress for her comments.


An angry user wrote: “Historian Sai Pallavi is back! Comparing the Kashmiri Hindu genocide to cattle smuggling is a great idea, isn’t it? Now she has been cast as Mata Sita? Another said: “So sad that this Communist Sai Pallavi is playing the role of Sita Ma in Ramayana.” Meanwhile, in ‘Ramayana’, Sai Pallavi will share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor. The project marks the first on-screen collaboration of both actors. ‘KGF’ star Yash plays Ravana in the movie, which is considered as one of the biggest movies. Sunny Deol will reportedly play Lord Hanuman. ‘Ramayana’ marks Sai Pallavi’s much-anticipated Bollywood debut.

The actress is also gearing up for the release of her Tamil film ‘Amaran’ directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. The film, adapted from the book India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military written by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, is produced by Kamal Haasan. The film, which also stars Sivakarthikeyan, is scheduled to be released on October 31.
