Emergency services discovered the body of a deceased 56-year-old man at an Echuca home on McSwain Road at around 7.30pm on Saturday.

Authorities arrested a 30-year-old Mooroopna man at the scene, who is being held in custody by Victoria Police.

The suspect has not yet been questioned.

“The exact circumstances of the death have yet to be determined at this stage and investigations are continuing,” Victoria Police wrote in a statement.

It is understood the men knew each other, authorities said.
