Winnipeg police are investigating after a woman was found unresponsive behind the Portage Place shopping center Thursday afternoon.

According to a press release, officers responded to the first hundred blocks of The Promenade around 3:10 p.m. to report a “suspicious incident.” Police said they found a woman unconscious and life-threatening. She was taken to hospital in critical condition, where she died from her injuries.

Police identified the victim as Briannah Clowes, 28, of Winnipeg.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
