One person has been seriously injured in a single-vehicle collision in Brampton.

Provincial police say the crash happened around 11 a.m. Sunday morning in the southbound lanes of Highway 410, near Highway 407.

OPP told CityNews two people were in the car at the time of the crash and one woman was ejected. She was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

A second person was seriously injured in the accident. Their ages and gender were not immediately known.

There were reports that one of the victims died from injuries sustained in the crash, but provincial police have not confirmed this, saying they are still caring for the family.

The circumstances leading to the accident were not immediately known.

Southbound lanes of Highway 410 were closed from Steeles Avenue to Highway 407 for investigation.
