“Suspicious incident” involving a restrained person and fleeing vehicles under police investigation in Mississauga

UPDATE: Peel Regional Police thanked the public for their assistance and provided an update on the “suspicious incident,” saying it has been resolved. However, details regarding the nature of the incident have not been released.


There are growing concerns for the welfare of an unknown man after security footage shows him being held near two vehicles that then fled the scene in Mississauga on Saturday evening.

Shortly after 9:45 p.m., Peel Regional Police officers responded to reports of a “suspicious incident” near Traders Boulevard East and Hurontario Street.

Police say security footage that captured the incident shows an individual who appears to be restrained next to a dark-colored sedan and an orange SUV.

After some time, both vehicles reportedly left the area in unknown directions.

Investigators are particularly concerned about the well-being of the person depicted in the images and are seeking to identify those involved.

If this incident is a prank, police are urging those responsible to come forward and clarify the situation.
