Liam Cameron’s manager Lee Eaton is confident his client will get his highly anticipated rematch with Ben Whittaker.

The two faced off on October 12 as part of the stacked undercard for Artur Beterbiev And Dmitri BivolThe undisputed light heavyweight clash.

In the dying embers of the fifth round, both men bunched up on the top rope, causing Whittaker to suffer injuries that prevented him from continuing.

As more than four rounds had been completed, the bout went to a technical decision, with the judges declaring it a draw.

Cameron was in the ascendancy when the fight was stopped and insisted Whittaker had looked for a way out.

He has since been stalking Whittaker for a rematch and the lines of communication have now been opened between the two sides.

“Had a good chat with his (Whittaker’s) lawyer last night,” Eaton, Cameron’s manager, tweeted.

“Interesting conversation – a rematch will happen, I’m sure.”

This comes after Cameron I came to talkSPORT to demand immediate action.

“He gave up 100 percent. Of course he did,” Cameron said before news broke that Whittaker had sprained his ankle during the fall.

“By the second round, he was breathing so hard. He was spitting out his gum guard, he was constantly holding me, he was blowing me low.

“And he basically dragged me over the ropes. You can see him roll his head back.

“He was exhausted, I was quite surprised how easy it was.”

“Ben Whittaker is in a very bad position because he still has to fight me. And he can’t beat me. There is no way to do it.

“He can’t beat me. There’s no way on this planet Earth he can beat me.

“Ben needs a revenge. Obviously I can take all different paths, with Frank Warren supporting me.

“He needs this revenge. There’s no way out of this. The fans are going to demand it.

“Well, his fans and all that and the internet, you know what it’s like, it can be a horrible place. All of his followers have turned to me and given me their love and support.”
