Washington Commanders RBs Become ‘Next Man Up’ in Win Over New York Giants

The Washington Commanders didn’t have Brian Robinson Jr. against the New York Giants, but they still managed to pull out a 27-22 victory in week 9.

Robinson tried to prepare during warm-ups before the start of the match, but his hamstrings were not healthy enough to face the Commanders.

Therefore, the depth of the commander at the position has been tested, but Jayden Daniels believed the group had stepped up its efforts.

“You can see earlier in the year when (running back Austin) Ekeler was out and (running back) J-Mac (Jeremy McNichols) came in and did his thing,” Daniels said after the game. “B-Rob (Brian Robinson) is out and J-Mac (Jeremy McNichols), Ek (Austin) Ekeler) and Chris Rodriguez came in and did their thing. It’s just the next man up mentality. It doesn’t matter when. Our coaching staff does a tremendous job of giving players confidence, no matter if you’re a starter or a member of the practice squad. You never know when your number might be called.

Robinson is hoping to make a return for Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but if he doesn’t, the rest of the Commanders backroom will be ready.
