Ballot printing company takes responsibility for misprinted ballots in St. Clair County

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Alabama (WBRC) – Due to what is known as a “printing issue,” some St. Clair County ballots did not contain statewide and local amendments; for this reason, voting hours in some constituencies were extended until 9 p.m.

In a social media post, Probate Judge Andrew Weathington said the first round of corrected paper ballots were on their way to St. Clair County. Corrected ballots will begin arriving at polling locations between 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. and will continue to arrive at similar intervals for the remainder of the day.

You must be in line before 9 p.m. to vote. All ballots submitted before polling places have been ordered to stop distributing incorrect ballots will be counted.

“Many people have come together and are doing everything they can to ensure that St. Clair County residents can vote today,” Weathington said. “We are grateful for your patience.

The following polling stations will be open until 9 p.m.:

  • Ashville City Hall
  • Poplar Springs Church
  • Argo town hall
  • Wattsville VFD
  • Celebrations
  • New London
  • Wolf Creek
  • Boys and Girls Club
  • Cook Springs Baptist Church
  • Moody Civic Center
  • Cropwell Baptist Church
