CTrain hits pedestrian in downtown Calgary

A pedestrian was struck by a CTrain in downtown Calgary on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. The road was closed at the intersection of Third Street and Seventh Avenue SE, near City Hall/Bow Valley College Station, where the collision has occurred.

The person was taken to hospital, but police do not know their status.

The traffic unit is investigating the collision.

In a social media post, Calgary Transit said all stations along Seventh Avenue would be closed. Shuttles will be set up to transport passengers from these stations.

The Red and Blue Line CTrains are late.
