How does this work?

Flights departing from Toronto’s Pearson Airport in Mississauga could be affected by a rare hurricane in November.

Hurricane Rafael passed the Cayman Islands Tuesday evening and is expected to gain strength as it heads toward Cuba on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

The storm could be a Category 2 hurricane as it makes landfall in Cuba before losing strength as it continues toward Texas and Louisiana.

Pearson Airport officials said they monitor the hurricane.

“Some airlines have canceled flights to the Caribbean, while some flights are delayed,” Pearson said on X.

The sky is starting to clear after a rainy start to the morning.

Today, we expect to welcome more than 110,000 travelers on board 430 departures and 436 arrivals.
