Golden Knights look to celebrate Nevada Day by remaining undefeated at home

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Vegas Golden Knights (4-2-1) will look to represent the Silver State on Nevada Day when they host the Ottawa Senators (4-2-0) Friday afternoon.

THE second game of a four-game homestand at T-Mobile Arena, puck drop will be at 3 p.m.

The Knights earned a dominant 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, improving Vegas’ record to 4-0 at Fortress this season. Before that, the Guys in Gold were 0-2-1 during a three-game road trip.

Hertl scores twice, Golden Knights end three-game streak with 6-1 win over Kings

The Senators’ competition will be the first game VGK defenseman Shea Theodore will play since signing a 7-year contract to stay with the Golden Knights THURSDAY.

William Karlsson, another original misfit, has not played this season or preseason. The VGK forward is expected to make his season debut Saturday night when the Golden Knights host the San Jose Sharks.

2:40 p.m. – Senators goal: Adam Gaudette, a forward on Ottawa’s fourth line, shoots past Adin Hill as Vegas allows their opponent to start the scoring. 1-0 Senators in 1st.
Commercial break: Former Stanley Cup champion, former Golden Knight Michael Amadio, now a senator after leaving VGK in the offseason, receives a tribute on the Knight-tron and receives a standing ovation from the Nevada Day crowd. A warm return for an attacker who spent three seasons in Vegas.
12:15 p.m. – Senators goal: An Ottawa shot ricochets off Tomas Hertl’s stick and Brayden McNabb’s skate and past Hill to score. Claude Giroux scores Ottawa’s goal. The Senators lead 2-0 at the end of the first period.
