Remains of missing British Columbia woman found in Fraser River, IHIT says

The remains of a woman who went missing from Surrey, British Columbia, eight months ago were found in the Fraser River this summer, authorities say.

The Integrate Homicide Investigation provided an update on the case Wednesday, appealing to the public for information.

Navdeep Kaur, 28, was reported missing on February 23, 2024. Surrey RCMP investigators have determined that Kaur’s disappearance “may be the result of foul play,” according to the IHIT release.

On July 23, exactly five months after Kaur was reported missing, Richmond RCMP found human remains near where Williams Road meets the Fraser River. These remains were identified as those of Kaur.

“IHIT continued to explore a number of investigative avenues to determine the circumstances surrounding Ms. Kaur’s death,” authorities said.

“This is a tragic event and investigators continue to work on this very active investigation. We are issuing an update in the hope that someone who knows anything about the disappearance and homicide of Ms. Kaur can manifest.”

Anyone with information is asked to call IHIT at 1-877-551-4448.
