West Ham news: Fans’ views on something we should talk about

We asked one thing about West Ham that people don’t talk about but should.

Here are some of your comments:

Brendan: Honestly, I don’t think Julen Lopetegui and West Ham are a good choice. Lopetegui will likely enjoy success, but not at West Ham. Some things can’t be communicated or forced, they just have to flow, especially at a club like West Ham. Find a way to change tradition and you’ll find the key to West Ham’s evolution.

Dazza: It is clear that our new manager does not yet know his first choice starting XI and so, by definition, he does not have a defined strategy or plan for the team. An impending disaster

Tarquin: Although we have bought so many decent new players who could improve our first team this summer, Lopetegui simply isn’t giving them enough minutes. He remains with the same old team that struggled in the second half of the season last year. Why does Michail Antonio always start? He is old, slow, tired and can no longer face his man.

Jan: Nobody said why we loaned James Ward-Prowse to Nottingham Forest. Ward-Prowse was one of our most influential players last season. None of the new midfield signings have performed better than Prowsey. Aguerd was also loaned out without any replacement!

Tyler: We are not talking about the fact that we will not invest in a decent and proven manager. We need this boost to get back into the top six. David Moyes was decent, but we need a consistent, proven trophy winner like Jose Mourinho.

Arlo: In recent years we have had a fantastic academy, with our under-18s even winning the FA Youth Cup in 2022-23. Despite this, I can’t think of a recent young player, namely Declan Rice, who would have had a look at the senior team. It’s as if we refuse to use our own talents! We even spent £25m on a young Brazilian who only played four minutes!
