Coroner’s office identifies victim in fatal Myrtle Beach apartment shooting

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A man who was shot and killed during an alleged fight between two roommates has been identified.

Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said Rictavio Thompson, 24, died in the shooting. He was from the Bahamas.

Myrtle Beach police were called shortly before 8:45 p.m. Monday to the Willow Run Apartments, near Greens Boulevard, for a report of shots fired following a fight inside an apartment.

An incident report shows that when officers arrived, they saw a man on the second floor of the building crouching over another man who had also been shot.

Police ordered several people in the apartment to come down.

The report shows officers brought the victim, who had been shot in the torso, downstairs so EMS could provide medical treatment.

When officers left the apartment, they found Thompson with multiple gunshot wounds.

Myrtle Beach police said they have arrested several people, but at this point no one has been charged in this case. We have contacted Myrtle Beach Police to see if an arrest has been made and if any charges have been filed.
