Louisiana voters will cast ballots in the state’s six congressional districts. Louisiana holds open elections without a partisan primary. If a candidate obtains 50% of the votes, he or she is declared the winner. Otherwise, the first two candidates will appear in the second round. In the 1st Congressional District, five candidates will be on the ballot: Republican Steve Scalise, the incumbent; Republican Randall Arrington; Republican Ross Shales; Democrat Mel Manuel; and Frankie Hyers, who has no party affiliation. Otherwise, the first two candidates will appear in the second round. In the 2nd Congressional District, five candidates will appear on the ballot: Democrat Troy Carter, the incumbent; Democrat Devin Davis; Republican Christy Lynch; Republican Shondrell Perrilloux; and Republican Devin Graham. Otherwise, the first two candidates will appear in the second round. In the 3rd Congressional District, four candidates will appear on the ballot: Republican Clay Higgins, the incumbent; Republican Xan John; Democrat Priscilla Gonzalez; and Democrat Sadi Summerlin. The race in Louisiana’s 4th Congressional District pits Republican Mike Johnson, the incumbent, and Republican Joshua Morott. Louisiana holds open elections without a partisan primary. If a candidate obtains 50% of the votes, he or she is declared the winner. Otherwise, the first two candidates will appear in the second round. In the 5th Congressional District, three candidates will appear on the ballot: Republican Julia Letlow, the incumbent; Republican Vinny Mendoza; and Democrat Michael Vallien. Louisiana holds open elections without a partisan primary. If a candidate obtains 50% of the votes, he or she is declared the winner. Otherwise, the first two candidates will appear in the second round. In the 6th Congressional District, four candidates will appear on the ballot: Republican Elbert Guillory, Democrat Quentin Anderson, Democrat Wilken Jones and Democrat Peter Williams. Republican Garrett Graves is not seeking re-election for this seat after redistricting made the district more heavily Democratic.
