Sparks fly as ‘The View’ hosts clash over reasons for Harris’ brutal defeat: ‘What’s wrong with America?’

The co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” engaged in an intense debate Friday over why Vice President Kamala Harris lost this week to President-elect Donald Trump.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin criticized the Democratic Party for not sending enough messages to working and middle-class voters, while co-host Sunny Hostin completely destroyed that notion, choosing to blame Americans for embracing bigotry.

“I think the more pertinent question is actually: What is wrong with America?” Hostin said, following Trump’s victory in the electoral college vote and likely the popular vote.

Before Hostin began a lengthy bashing of the voters who chose Trump, Griffin criticized the Democratic Party for failing to understand that the crucial voter this cycle was the person who feared they couldn’t survive in today’s economy.

“And the reality is: We were all wondering who was the swing voter who would decide this election? And a lot of people thought it was women and abortion. No, it turns out it’s the people from the suburbs who “I can’t stand Donald Trump’s personality, I don’t like the way he talks, but my life was better economically when he was president,” Griffin said.

Griffin continued, noting that Trump had made serious progress among young people and suburban women, who mostly vote Democratic, because they also worry about their finances.

“There is so much room for thought on the part of the Democrats and I hope they have it. Every time Joe Biden bragged about the economy, another vote from someone in trouble went to Donald Trump “, she concluded.

Hostin rejected Griffin’s view and then aired a laundry list of Trump’s alleged sins to show how unhinged she thinks Americans who voted for him are.

KAMALA HARRIS’S BAD RESPONSE ON “THE VIEW” ON BIDEN CONSIDERED A TURNING POINT IN THE CAMPAIGN

“I think – what is wrong with our country that the Republican Party chooses as its candidate and supports a candidate who is an insurrectionist, an election denier, who is someone who has been impeached twice , a 34-time convicted felon, someone who was accused of alleged sexual misconduct by 26 women, found responsible for sexual abuse.

She continued: “What is wrong with this country that it chooses a message of division, of xenophobia, of racism, of misogyny, rather than a message of inclusion, a message for the people , by the people, of the people?”

Griffin interjected, declaring that Trump “won the popular vote,” to which Hostin repeated her question: “Well, what’s wrong with America?”

Elsewhere in the discussion, co-host Sara Haines accused Hostin’s post of being “condescending.”

“The way the left speaks to its voters — it really is,” Haines said, as Hostin interrupted, “You mean the message of joy and inclusion?”

Haines retorted, “No, the message that he’s uneducated, he’s stupid and ‘What’s wrong with America?'”

Hostin tripled: “What is wrong with America?

Haines explained: “I don’t blame Joe Biden. Kamala Harris. Go back as far as you want. I blame a message within the Democratic Party. » Hostin interrupted: “You don’t blame the Republican Party at all?

“I obviously have a problem with Donald Trump. Everybody has a problem with Donald Trump. The biggest question should be, ‘Yes, Sunny, why did they vote for him?’

Hostin replied: “Yes, so they must be introspective.” Haines countered, saying, “No. We need to be introspective. If we voted for Kamala Harris, we need to say, ‘What didn’t resonate with voters?'”

All of the show’s hosts expressed open support for Harris during the campaign. The day after the election, more than half of them wore black as a sign of mourning following his defeat.
