Film title and team name teaser

Marvel has three theatrical releases planned for next year: Captain America: Brave New World (February 14), Love at first sight* (May 2), and Fantastic Four: first steps (July 25). I can’t wait to see them all, but if I had to choose just one to watch in the theater, there wouldn’t even be a contest. Love at first sight* is by far the most exciting of the three for me, especially considering Marvel a brilliant marketing trick.

That asterisk at the end of the title might seem confusing, but there’s an exciting theory that explains it. Thunderbolts may not be the final name for this team of misfits who will have to unite to fight for their survival and the common good. If this theory proves correct, the MCU will have a breathtaking twist before reaching the finale Avengers adventures.

I was wondering if we would ever see the Thunderbolts team name addressed in trailers, and I finally have my answer.

Wonder released great news Love at first sight* trailer for D23 Brazil, which contains some amazing footage featuring Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). Plus, the trailer gives us a big answer to a lingering question about the Avengers, one we’ve been waiting for the movie to give us. But the most important thing in the new clip concerns the Love at first sight* film title and team name.

Before I tell you what happens, I warn you that major spoilers will follow below.

Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier, will be one of six members of the Thunderbolts team. The D23 Brazil trailer features plenty of exciting action sequences, but there’s no denying that Bucky stands out. We know from previous trailers that Bucky isn’t exactly living a superhero life at the start of the film, even though he’s now a recognized Avenger.

Previous clips also indicated that he would embrace this aspect of his life again and lash out at his fellow Thunderbolts at some point in the film, likely early on. We see this happen in the D23 Brazil trailer, and I can’t stop watching this scene. Bucky is simply amazing. On that note, I also love the banter between the Thunderbolts team members.

Bucky will join forces with the former villains and antiheroes and go after Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) later in the film, as we know from previous trailers.

Separately, a Love at first sight* A partial plot leak told us that Val resides in the old Avengers Tower sold by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). The D23 Brazil trailer confirms all of this. Val has indeed purchased the building, implying that she no longer runs the MCU’s CIA.

Back to the banter between the Thunderbolts, the trailer ends with Red Guardian (David Harbour) exclaiming, “We are the Thunderbolts!” He continues to insist on the name “cool,” while others clearly disagree. Bucky says, “We can’t call ourselves that,” which is the most obvious clue that the new team won’t be called Thunderbolts at the end of the movie.

Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) also seem to lack enthusiasm for the Thunderbolts team name, although it might be a smart tweak by Marvel to make it appear that way.

Regardless, the end of the D23 Brazil trailer is Marvel’s way of cheekily addressing that asterisk at the end of the film’s title. This is a teaser that the team will be called something different by the end of the film.

The theories I mentioned before say that this new team of heroes will become the new Avengers of the MCUand I hope it’s all true. Remember, the MCU no longer has Avengers after the events of End of game. And don’t expect Captain America 4 to assemble Sam Wilson’s (Anthony Mackie) Avengers either.

Imagine how cool it will be for these New Avengers to be the first “army” of superheroes against the threat of Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) in Avengers: Apocalypse. You know, before others intervene.
