Easley seeks to extend moratorium on new developments

Easley, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Town of Easley is discussing plans to extend the moratorium on new development implemented over the summer.

On Monday evening, the Easley City Council will discuss suspending the acceptance of new zoning approvals, developments, building permits and other actions for another six months.

Officials said they need more time to examine potential pitfalls in the city’s zoning ordinance and land use regulations, while also considering how they want the community to develop .

Easley Mayor Lisa Talbert said a wave of development from 2020 to 2023 led to the approval of more than 22,000 new residential units.
