Swift Current Broncos beat Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-1

The Hurricanes will be happy to be back in Lethbridge on Saturday night after losing their third straight road game Friday night, a 4-1 decision to the Broncos in Swift Current.

After leading 1-0 in the first period thanks to a goal from Miguel Marques, the Hurricanes came out strong in the second period, peppering the Swift Current goal with shots, but were unable to consolidate their lead.

Swift Current, on a Dawson Gerwing goal, tied it at 12:19, then Eric Johnston scored to give the Broncos a 2-1 lead heading into the third.

Carlin Dezainde had a base hit to increase the Bronco lead to 3-1, followed by another from Brady Birnie, which made it 4-1.

Lethbridge’s record fell to 6-3-1 this season.

The Hurricanes begin a three-game homestand Saturday night when they take on the Red Deer Rebels.
