“Fight bloating and constipation: cayenne pepper stimulates digestion, metabolism and reduces appetite for a full-body detox,” he continues.

The simple recipe requires olive oil, lemon juice and cayenne pepper. A video accompanying the post asked viewers to mix olive oil with lemon juice and consume it on an empty stomach to cleanse the liver, gallbladder and intestines in just five days.

He continues: “In a small glass, add one tablespoon of olive oil, one tablespoon of lemon juice. Finally add half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper.

“This is essential because not only does it stimulate digestion and boost metabolism, but also helps reduce appetite, which can be beneficial for those wanting to lose weight and reduce bloating.

“Mix the ingredients well and when it is ready, drink this mixture in the morning on an empty stomach. You can take it from Monday to Friday and rest on the weekend.

“You can repeat this for up to four weeks for a complete cleanse, but you’ll start to notice its benefits within the first week. You’ll feel great and full of energy.”

According to the NHS, there are other methods to help you prevent bloating. Firstly, exercise is very important to improve your digestion and avoid gas.

Other methods include:

  • Chew with your mouth closed to avoid swallowing air
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Eat foods high in fiber if you are constipated
  • Eat smaller, more frequent meals rather than large meals
  • Massage your stomach from right to left to release trapped wind
