Travis Hunter hilariously steals Coach Prime’s shoes during press conference

During Tuesday’s press conference, Colorado’s Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter shared a humorous moment that had reporters laughing. Two-way star Hunter entered the room while Sanders was mid-question, wearing a pair of gently used Nike shoes to return to Coach Prime. Obviously, Hunter had “borrowed” the shoes, prompting Sanders to wonder what was wrong with them, adding, “Do they fit?”

Hunter responded that they were fine, but joked that he had a pair on layaway, adding humor to the situation. This playful exchange made the room laugh. Sanders, known for his quick wit, put the shoes back on and remarked, “How can a man wait for you to take off his shoes… Yeah… He’s amazing. He’s got so much money and he’s so thrifty. It reminds me of someone.” The moment highlighted the fatherly relationship between Sanders and his star player, who became a leader on the field and a Heisman favorite.

Hunter’s performance this season has indeed been “incredible”. Showing exceptional talent, he was a force on both ends of the court. Recently, he recorded nine receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown, just one yard shy of his fifth 100-yard game. His season statistics include 69 catches for 856 yards and nine touchdowns, making him a record-breaking threat in Colorado history. Defensively, Hunter played 86 of 87 snaps, adding to a record total of 162 plays this season. Pro Football Focus reports him as being nearly untouchable in coverage, allowing just 16 receptions on 26 targets on 269 defensive plays and giving up just 120 yards.

While Sanders and Hunter share light moments, they also prepare to host Utah, a team struggling with a five-game skid. The Buffs look forward to facing the Utes in the final chapter of the “Rumble in the Rockies.” The game begins Saturday at noon on FOX, with Colorado looking to finish its season strong against an injured opponent.
