Kum & Go renames all its establishments with a new name

(CNN) – A popular gas station chain is changing its name.

Kum & Go was sold to rival chain Maverik last year.

The company said it is in the process of renaming all of its sites to Maverik in order to unify its footprint.

The gas station chain was founded in Iowa in 1959. It began operating as Kum & Go in 1975.

Maverik did not say how long it would take to complete the rebranding process.

The chain has 400 locations across 13 states in the Midwest and South.

The acquisition will make Maverik the 12th largest chain of convenience stores and gas stations in the country, with approximately 800 locations.
