Eastern Airlines Technic and Thales extend their MRO cooperation

  • Eastern Airlines Technic (EASTEC) and Thales have renewed their maintenance partnership agreement, strengthening their collaboration to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.
  • This contract extension follows a successful collaboration between the two companies since 2018. This represents another important milestone in the ten-year relationship between EASTEC and Thales.
  • Thales will continue to support EASTEC and strengthen its maintenance capabilities. Maintenance and repair services for the next five years will be provided by Thales for its avionics equipment on China Eastern Airlines’ A320, A330 and B737 fleet.

November 12th2024, EASTEC and Thales renewed their partnership agreement during a signing ceremony organized during the 15th Zhuhai Air Show in China. Maintenance and repair services will be provided by Thales until 2029 for its avionics equipment installed on China Eastern Airlines’ A320, A330 and B737 fleet. This contract extension follows a successful collaboration between the two companies which began in 2018. This is another important milestone in the ten-year relationship between the two companies and a demonstration of confidence in the quality of premium service from Thales and its commitment to serving the growing aviation market. in China.

Services will be provided by both Thales Aerospace Beijing Co., Ltd. – the local Thales maintenance center in China, and by the Thales Aviation Global Services (AGS) center in Singapore. Together, they will provide comprehensive support to China Eastern.

Since its first selection of Thales avionics equipment in 2014, China Eastern has equipped 270 A320s with Thales flight management systems (FMS), low-range radio altimeters (LRRA) and the T3CAS integrated surveillance solution. In 2018, China Eastern and Thales also signed a strategic maintenance cooperation agreement, consolidating their global partnership.
