When speaking to journalists, head coach Jon Cooper revealed that the Lightning will use a unique strategy against the Jets. Instead of dressing 12 forwards and six defensemen, the Lightning will have seven defensemen and 11 forwards against Winnipeg.

With this news, Lightning defenseman Darren Raddysh will be back in the lineup. He last played on November 3 against the Jets.
