THE I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! the camp isn’t known for its cleanliness, but one former star called it “the smelliest year ever.”

Hello Great Britain presenter Kate Garraway was in the jungle in 2019 with people like Caitlyn Jenner, Ian WrightRoman Kemp and winner Jacqueline Jossa.

That year, wildfires prevented campmates from starting their own fires, which “normally” masked odors after weeks of living in the elements.

“It’s been the stinkiest year ever, Ant and Dec said,” Kate admitted on Monday’s episode of GMB just days before. this year’s launch with an all-star cast.

She explained: “If you remember, there were huge forest fires, so we weren’t allowed to start a fire.

“Normally everyone smells bad, but normally the campfire covers it. Even though we had a gas burner to be safe and we stank of fish oil, guts and all.

Although she noted that they still used roll-on deodorant (thank you), the problem wasn’t “so much the sweat” but rather the things that got stuck on the campmates’ bodies during tryouts.

Adil Ray dragged himself onto the couch after Kate’s confession, and she quickly apologized for oversharing and insisted it had nothing to do with her fellow stars.

“I’m so sorry for sharing this, I’m worried about all my campmates now,” she said. “It wasn’t because of us, it was the circumstances. Don’t sue me Caitlyn Jenner!’

This year, Coleen Rooney, Tulisa, Danny Jones and GK Barry head into the jungle to take on the Bushtucker Trials.

They hope to avoid the ‘smelliest year’ label, while ITV bosses are said to have taken steps to avoid a more figurative stench.

It was claimed that producers had deliberately avoided politicians in the upcoming series, in a bid to push for a more “positive” series.

A source said Online mail: “ITV producers are pushing for a more “positive” version of I’m A Celebrity after examining previous series which saw controversial politicians like Matt Hancock and Nigel Farage divide its audience.

“Changing the fundamental format of the show, the producers added two camp counselors to allow the contestants to bond.”

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! launches Sunday at 9pm on ITV1.
