The legend grows. Connor McDavid continues to pride himself on being one of the greatest hockey players to ever grace the ice. He became the the fourth fastest in NHL history reach 1,000 career pointsscoring a goal against the Nashville Predators in the first period to achieve this incredible feat in front of his family and home crowd. What made the moment even more celebratory was that he captured it in the presence of his longtime teammates.

Leon Draisaitl found the three-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner’s one-timer on a two-on-one break to help him enter the 1,000-point club. McDavid then scored another point on an assist, which proved oh so crucial. He teamed up with Darnell Nurse in overtime to power the Oilers to a 3-2 win over the Predators. It was an electric night for the beloved center and for Edmonton as a whole.

Draisaitl and Nurse made their franchise debuts in 2014, a year before McDavid himself wore royal blue, orange and white. They were each just 19 years old when they wore their first jerseys for the Oilers, meaning they shared a wealth of experiences both inside and outside of Rogers Place.
