New movies and shows to stream this weekend: The Day of the Jackal, Silo, Cobra Kai + More

Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch co-star in new Peacock limited series The Day of the JackalThe first five episodes of the ten-episode season were released on Thursday. On Apple TV+, Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Robbins and Common all return for a new season of the dystopian thriller Silo. And on Netflix, Cobra Kai is back, and it seems everyone who owns a dojo in the San Fernando Valley is heading to Barcelona for a world karate tournament.

Eddie Redmayne stars as the titular assassin known as the Jackal in this new reimagining of Frederick Forsyth’s 1971 novel of the same name that arrived at Peacock this week. The series stars Lashana Lynch as a British intelligence officer named Bianca whose job is to thwart the Jackal’s attempt on the life of a tech entrepreneur.

New on Apple TV+ on November 15: Silo (Season 2)

If you’re feeling particularly dystopian this week, watch the second season premiere of Silo (the full first season is also available on Apple TV+). The series stars Rebecca Ferguson as Juliette, one of 10,000 people left on the planet who is forced to survive in a bunker a mile below the surface. As Juliette struggles to understand the circumstances, she sets out to find out who built this mysterious bunker and why, drawing herself into a web of dangerous and deadly secrets.

New on Netflix November 15: Cobra Kai (Season 6, Part II)

Cobra Kai just keep kicking. This week, five new episodes arrive on Netflix as part of Season 6, Part 2 (this is the penultimate batch of episodes in the series – we’ll receive Part 3 early next year ). In these new episodes arriving Friday, everyone goes to Spain for a world tournament to see who is the best.
