Hugh Grant gets emotional as he shares his ‘love’ of being a dad

Hugh Grant becomes emotional as he talks about his role as a father.

On Thursday, November 14, the 64-year-old actor joined The Kelly Clarkson Showwhere he talked about raising his five children: daughters Lulu, 8, and Blue, 6, and son John Mungo, 12, whom he shares with wife Anna Eberstein, as well as daughter Tabitha Xiao Xi, 13 years old, and his son Felix Chang Hong, 11 years old. , which he shares with Tinglan Hong.

“Are you like a jungle gym dad?” asks host Clarkson, explaining the term as when your kids “crawl all over you.”

Grant smiles before sharing, “Oh, I kinda love it.”

“I mean, there’s a lot to worry about because I’m old and it’s loud and it’s unbearable and I kind of hide in the toilets,” he jokes.

The proud dad then cries as he shares, “I mean, I’m coming home tonight and, let’s face it, the moment where they jump into your arms – my 6-year-old daughter calls it her ‘chimp hug.’ “I like it.”

“I made myself cry,” he adds.

THE Heretic star appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel live show in October and discussed how he named his two youngest daughters. Grant, who had not previously shared their names, explained that he was a little “freaked out” trying to name his children.

“I have a daughter that I named… I was a little freaked out with my wife the day we gave her a name and we thought it would be good for her, when she was older, if she could saying in bars that her middle name was Danger,” Grant said. “So her name is Lulu Danger Grant.”

As for his 8-year-old daughter, Grant explained that her “name is Blue because once again I was freaking out about names with my wife, so we asked (Lulu’s) older brother when she was on her way.

“We said, ‘There’s a new baby coming, what should we call him?’ And he said ‘Kevin’ because that was his favorite Minion,” the father of five said, referring to the film. Despicable Me. “And we thought about calling him Kevin, but then we said, ‘You better think of something else.’ So he said Blue, because it was his favorite color.”
