    Katie Taylor Scores Another Controversial Split Decision Victory Over Amanda Serrano – Paul vs. Tyson Result (Highlights)

    More than two years after their instant classic at Madison Square Garden, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano returned to the ring to win one of the most anticipated rematches in boxing history.

    That night, Taylor edged Serrano via a hotly contested and highly questionable split decision to keep its lightweight crown undisputed. This time around, Taylor will win his undisputed world welterweight title at the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

    Round 1-

    Serrano gets things started by pumping his jab and Taylor throws a few right hooks. Serrano tags in and Taylor lands a nice counter just before coming out of the corner. Serrano continues to advance, putting Taylor in the corner as we approach the final seconds of the first round. Serrano blasts Taylor with a nice left that sends Taylor back against the ropes. Taylor circles around and avoids taking any further damage before the bell rings.

    Round 2

    After finishing the first round on a high note, Serrano came out intending to start the second the same way. However, Taylor has other plans as she takes a big blow to the chin as Serrano advances. This caught Serrano’s attention, but didn’t stop Taylor from trying to put Taylor on the back foot.

    Round 3

    Serrano continues to advance, but Taylor does a better job of keeping her at bay with a hard jab. Serrano runs through him and throws a two-punch combination, but Serrano fights back with a barrage of strikes that knock Serrano back. Taylor looks better with each round, but it’s probably not enough to tip the scales in his favor.

    Round 4

    Taylor gets things going with a nice combination near the corner, but it’s Serrano pushing the pace. Taylor is more than willing to get into a shootout with Taylor, but she starts to pull herself together every time Serrano closes the distance. A brief break in the fight comes when an accidental headbutt occurs from Taylor leaning headfirst into Serrano. Once the fight resumes, Serrano continues his pursuit and lands a nice right hand near the corner.

    Round 5

    Serrano closes the distance right out of the gate and Taylor tries to make her pay, but a clinch forces the referee to separate them. Serrano lands a counter left and follows it up with a lead left that lands. Serrano takes Taylor down and throws a left hook, but Taylor ducks. Taylor takes every opportunity, giving herself the chance to reset. With 10 seconds left in the round, Serrano tears the body and both fighters trade blows until the bell rings.

    Round 6

    Serrano has a nasty cut over his right eye from the headbutt in the fourth round. Taylor lands a left which seems to have opened the gash even more. The referee stops the action for the ring doctor to take a look, but allows the fight to continue. Serrano continues to stalk his opponent, but Taylor manages to avoid any dangerous strikes.

    Round 7

    We see some big exchanges in the seventh round as Serrano is blinded by her blood. With Taylor tired and Serrano injured, the two women continue to fight in the center of the ring. Taylor lands a solid left, but Serrano comes right back with a nasty right hook followed by another. It seems like Serrano’s cut takes away from her accuracy, but she still seems to be ahead of Taylor, which will definitely help her on the scorecards.

    Round 8

    As the fight goes on, both fighters land some huge shots. It became a battle between Taylor’s volume and Serrano’s power. Another clash of heads opens the cut on Serrano again and Taylor scores a solid left. Then we get yet another headbutt followed by a left hook from Taylor. Serrano and Taylor exchange blows in close range and Taylor gets a point deducted for the repeated clashes of heads.

    Round 9

    The cut to Serrano’s eyes is beyond nasty, but she continues to go after Taylor in a series of senseless exchanges. Serrano lands accurately, but Taylor doesn’t back down and both women are happy to slaughter and fight throughout the penultimate round.

    Round 10

    Taylor gets nailed with a right and left from Serrano and the challenger makes the most of the striking exchanges. Taylor fights back with a powerful two-fisted assault, but she’s injured and takes an absolute beating in the final round. A body shot knocks Taylor back, but Taylor responds with a massive shot, and both women finish the fight riding it safe for the win and looking to make a statement on the scorecards.
