Travis Green shares terrible and surprising update on Shane Pinto.

It seems that this was the news that surprised the most.

On Sunday afternoon, Ottawa Senators head coach Travis Green announced that his team would be without the services of forward Shane Pinto for a period of time. The news doesn’t look good at all, with senators describing it as a “from week to week” type of situation for Pinto.

Interestingly, the senators chose not to give details about what type of injury Pinto suffered nor did they share any news about how Pinto was injured in the first place.

This is rather unfortunate news for Pinto who had a solid start to the season with a goal and two assists for 3 points in his first 6 games of the regular season. This is even more unfortunate when you consider the fact that Pinto has already had to miss an important moment in his development process due to a major sports betting-related suspension he received from the NHL almost exactly one year. Pinto was suspended by the NHL on October 26 of last year and news of this year’s major injuries comes only a day later.

Pinto looked excellent in his return from that suspension, scoring 27 points (9 goals and 18 assists) in just 41 games and there’s no doubt fans were eager to see what he could do over a season complete this time.

I will continue to provide more details on this story if information becomes available, but as of this writing, senators are remaining extremely tight-lipped on this situation.
