THE BMW M2 is arguably the best sports car in the brand’s current lineup and is a compelling alternative to sports cars like the Porsche Cayman and Mercedes-AMG A45 S. Today, Manhart has transformed the M2 into a car that will not only leave the Porsche and Mercedes dead but may also scare off some legitimate supercars.

BMW The S58 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder usually develops 473 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque, but thanks to the installation of a carbon fiber intake, steel exhaust stainless with a 200-cell catalytic converter, and either the Manhart MHtronik powerbox or a factory ECU remapping, power was increased to 718 hp. Torque also jumped to 664 lb-ft (900 Nm).

Manhart hasn’t published any acceleration times for the car, but with power like this in a relatively compact sports car, we’re sure the MH2 700 II is an absolute weapon. Remarkably, the German tuning company is also selling more extreme performance upgrades for the M2 to make it even faster, but these are based on need to know.

Other modifications offered by Manhart include KW lowering springs or a set of KW Variant 4 coilovers that lower the ride height and promise to improve handling. The brakes remained unchanged, but anyone wanting to add around 250 more horsepower to their M2 would be wise to look for a beefier set of brakes.

Many carbon fiber parts complete upgrades. These include carbon fiber inserts on the front fascia, distinctive side skirts, a carbon hood, new grilles, a bespoke rear diffuser and a huge fixed wing. Champagne-colored decals also adorn parts of the exterior. Inside the cabin are a small roll bar, seat covers, carbon fiber trim and Manhart brand floor mats.
