iPhone maker Foxconn partners with Nvidia for AI-powered factories

Foxconn Technologyin collaboration with Nvidialeverages digital twin technology to revolutionize manufacturing and supply chain management. The initiative uses Nvidia’s Omniverse to streamline global factory operations, improve resiliency and ensure consistent quality.

According to a press release issued Monday, Foxconn announced a collaboration with Nvidia to develop digital twins aimed at transforming manufacturing processes and supply chain management. The partnership is expected to facilitate the global deployment of advanced facilities and improve business resilience, opening up new opportunities for innovation in these areas.

This collaboration was first revealed at Hon Hai Tech Day 2023, where Foxconn demonstrated its use of Nvidia’s Omniverse platform to create a 3D digital twin to simulate automated production lines at its Hsinchu factory in Taiwan. Plans are underway to expand the application of Omniverse to other Foxconn factories around the world.

Meanwhile, progress at the company’s Mexican facilities highlights the integration of Nvidia Omniverse, Nvidia Isaac for robotics, Nvidia Modulus for AI-driven simulations, and OpenUSD for seamless data interoperability.

Adopting digital twin technology allows Foxconn to rapidly scale its operations by virtually simulating processes before physical implementation. This capability supports the company’s global deployment strategy, enabling it to replicate and standardize production lines across various regions with exceptional efficiency. By ensuring consistent quality and precision, Foxconn strengthens its competitiveness in strategic global markets.
