‘To get some reach, you keep…’: Netizens disagree after Amity University dance video goes viral for ‘Nudity’

A video of an Amity University student dancing in a revealing outfit has gone viral on social media, sparking a debate on censorship and free speech. While some criticized the video for being too suggestive, others defended the student’s right to express herself creatively.

A video of an Amity University student dancing at the university’s freshers’ party has gone viral after a woman shared the clip, criticizing the alleged nudity in the show.

The 30-second video shows the student dancing to the song “Dil Dooba”, during which she removes her t-shirt to reveal another top underneath. The woman who shared the video took to social media to condemn the student’s actions, calling the spectacle inappropriate and calling it “nudity.” The post sparked an online debate over the definition of nudity and whether dancing crossed a line.

The dance took place during the “Mr and Ms Fresher 2024” event on November 8. While the video quickly went viral, reaching over 1.6 million views, many users in the comments criticized User X for sharing the clip, accusing him of using it. to get more engagement on their profile.

Some Internet users came to support the dance. “Where is the nudity, sister? To get some reach, you keep giving advice all day, have a little shame, before sharing a girl’s video, blur the photo, otherwise take her permission. People like you are more dangerous in today’s society,” one user wrote.

“Try to have fun or pursue a hobby or passion someday. You will have a good time. And I promise you, you will not be judged or shamed like you are trying to do to this young lady, who is a fabulous dancer and having a great time,” another user said.

Many users praised the student for her impressive dance moves and energetic performance. They also criticized the netizen’s harsh comments on the show, accusing her of hypocrisy, especially after she previously supported candlelight marches for rape victims. One user replied: “You’re just jealous,” while another called her the “frustrated moral police.”
