A meeting will be held Tuesday to discuss the redevelopment of the former Lakeridge Tennis Club

A proposal to redevelop the former Lakeridge Tennis Club into a 273-unit multi-family apartment complex will be presented Tuesday at the Ward 2 Neighborhood Advisory Board (NAB) meeting.

The project, located at 6000 Plumas Street, also includes grading plans that would result in embankments higher than ten feet.

The 9.48-acre site, located on the southeast corner of Plumas Street and South McCarran Boulevard, is currently zoned as General Commercial (GC) and designated as Suburban Mixed Use (SMU) in the master plan. The redevelopment proposal requires a conditional use permit, which will be reviewed by Northern Nevada Public Health.

The Planning Commission is scheduled to hear the matter on December 5, 2024. Residents are encouraged to participate in the hybrid NAB meeting, which will be held both in person at the Moana Nursery Design Center and virtually via Zoom, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on November 19.

The long-running club was permanently closed at the end of May 2020. It has remained vacant since the failure of a number of projects, including a 350-unit senior housing complex.

Andy Durling of Wood Rodgers, the plaintiff’s representative, can be contacted for more information at 775-823-4068 or [email protected]. Leah Piccotti, associate planner, is the staff contact for the project and can be reached at 775-334-2178 or [email protected].
