Syd Lawrence hopes to use her Skin by Syd business to focus on enhancing the beauty her clients already have.

Lawrence recently moved Skin by Syd to 113 Main St., Suite 302, in Painesville. She offers a variety of facial, eyebrow and eyelash services, with the aim of “enhancing people’s natural beauty” instead of trying to change them.

Skin by Syd’s menu of services includes both a half-hour express facial and a one-hour personalized facial. Along with the custom facial, Lawrence offers neck, shoulder and scalp massages.

“You don’t get charged extra for extractions, or anything else I have to do, it’s completely tailored to the client’s skin,” she said. “So they’ll include a cleanse, toning, an enzyme level of exfoliation, a mask, and then all the finishing products, including serums, moisturizers, all of that.”

Another facial service Lawrence offers is dermaplaning, which she described as “a different type of facial” that removes “peach fuzz” and dead skin and “allows for a deeper level of exfoliation.” . She also offers microcurrent, which uses currents to give “a more lifted and toned appearance.”

Its listed brow and lash services include brow waxing, brow lamination, classic lash extensions, and lift and tint. She said the latter service “basically feels like you’re using an eyelash curler and mascara” and lasts four to six weeks.

“It’s a good alternative for someone who doesn’t want to wear makeup every day,” Lawrence said.

She said she graduated from Brown Aveda Institute last year and went on to open Skin by Syd in Willowick. She continued to learn during this time, earning certifications in dermaplaning, microcurrent, lash lifts, tints and eyelash extensions.

Lawrence said she moved her business to Painesville on Nov. 1. She wanted the location to be safe and “aesthetic and pleasant.”

“When I found this specific location, the building was beautiful, the location was great, it’s nice to be surrounded by other thriving businesses because at the end of the day, that’s all we want , is that our businesses are successful,” she said. . “So being around them – what you are around is what you will be, so it’s great.”
