Streak snapped at four as Blazers fall 3-1 to Giants – WHL

Blazers’ winning streak is snapped

The Kamloops Blazers had their season-long winning streak snapped in four games Sunday at Langley, where they fell 3-1 to the Vancouver Giants.

Conner Radke scored Kamloops’ only goal. Tyler Thorpe (2) and former Blazer Connor Levis were the scorers for Vancouver.

Lévis’ goal at 7:11 of the third period gave the Giants a 2-1 lead and an empty-net goal with six seconds left made it 3-1.

Dylan Ernst made 33 saves on 35 shots for Vancouver. Burke Hood stopped 25 of Kamloops’ 26 shots to earn the victory in net.

The announced attendance at the Langley Events Center was 4,522 people.

This is the Blazers’ first defeat since October 15. Their record is now 6-7-1-0, good for eighth place in the WHL Western Conference.

The Blazers will be back in action on Friday, as the Prince George Cougars visit the Sandman Centre. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
