A teacher from Rincon elementary school wins “A banana for the teacher”

RINCON, Ga. (WSAV) – As we move forward through the school year, we don’t want to forget the incredible work our local teachers do every day.

“Surprised, for sure. Unexpected. I wasn’t really prepared,” said Rincon Elementary School teacher Kiristen Boles.

Boles, a third grade teacher, was surprised to be our next “Banana for the Teacher” winner.

“I’m happy that my work speaks for itself and I’m happy that they were able to see that in me and take the time to nominate me. I feel very special, that’s for sure,” Boles told WSAV.

That’s why she also added the title of our new product “A Banana for the Teacher”.

“Mathematics is very practical, so buying things we can use to make it more practical and more fun. Science – contribute to experiments and other projects in class. It will definitely help a lot,” Boles said.

Ms. Boles can buy anything she wants thanks to a $500 grant from WSAV, Farah & Farah and Savannah Bananas to help her students thrive every day.

“It’s my motivation to be here every day. Teaching is life. I don’t know what I would do without it. Just coming here, making their day, inspiring them – they inspire me,” Boles said.

We are looking for our next teacher to surprise with $500 under the title “A Banana for the Teacher”. Click here to apply today.
