PSA: Don’t forget to spend your Pokémon TCG Pocket Pack points

Pack the points in Pokémon TCG Pocket can be spent to acquire new cards, but you may not have realized that they will expire if not used.

At least I hadn’t timed it myself. Pack Points are earned by opening booster packs in the mobile game and can then be spent on specific cards.

The feature is a bit hidden, but can be accessed via the icon at the bottom right of the booster screen. From there, cards can be purchased from 35 pack points all the way up to 500 pack points for the rarest EX cards.

This is especially useful for recovering specific cards to complete missions and themed collections, or simply to recover a favorite card that hasn’t yet been accidentally found in a booster pack.

However, as the in-game information states, these pack points will eventually expire.

“If the availability period for a given booster ends, its pack points will no longer be available for redemption,” the information states.

What is this availability period? The game does not indicate this and it has not been disclosed by The Pokémon Company.

What we know is new boosters will be available “by the end of the year”but it is unclear whether the current booster points will expire at this time.

The game upcoming events have also been revealed via a dataminewhich will focus on the first generation starter Bulbasaur.

Pokémon TCG Pocket has already exceeded $120 million since its releasethat’s an average of $6.4 million spent in-game every day.
