I don’t agree with sidelining creative industry veterans

Ghanaian rapper Trigmatic Ghanaian rapper Trigmatic

Ghanaian rapper Trigmatic has indicated that he does not agree with the ideology that some individuals are calling for the removal of veterans from the creative arts industry.

In an interview with TV3’s Day Show on November 14, 2024, Trigmatic noted that the expertise of veterans is still needed to improve the music industry.

“No, I don’t agree with this ideology that we don’t need older people in charge. You still need older people to some extent. But it’s a two-way street because old people also need new ideals from all over the world young people If there is a new mind coming, the person must come with a mindset of mixing his ideas with the old ones.

“But if the idea is that older people leave and new people take over, that’s why a lot of older people sabotage the system. So I think it’s more about collaboration than handing over the “it’s up to a whole new generation to take over,” he said.

Trigmatic further called on artists in the country to acquire multiple sources of income to avoid going broke in their old age.

“Yes! I have this fear for the majority, especially the new generation, because when we see old musicians going bankrupt, I say to myself, it’s something we can learn from.

“Also, artists need to diversify. They need to have a vision; they should do other businesses, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I see music as a stepping stone to many other opportunities, so “Artists should associate with great people they meet and create opportunities from that,” he added.

Trigmatic is a Ghanaian musician who has many songs to his credit.

He has songs like “My Life”, “Hold Yuh”, “Diplomatic Teef” and many more.
