Followed by cold nights and sunny afternoons throughout the weekend

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Noticeably colder air has swept across Alabama and you’ll be feeling it over the next few days! The sun dominates the state’s skies all weekend, but it doesn’t help much with temperatures.

The chill in the air continues Friday and Saturday. Even with sunshine, high temperatures will only warm into the upper 50s or lower 60s. Winds will gust around 5 to 10 mph to end the week and start the weekend early.

Overnight lows will drop, expect temperatures of 30 Friday night and Saturday night! Frosts are likely in colder locations Saturday and Sunday morning.

Freeze Warnings: Many of our counties should prepare for temperatures to drop into the 30s for a few hours before sunrise Saturday morning. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning…sensitive plants left outdoors without shelter or protection will be impacted! Also, remember to bring your pets inside or make sure they have somewhere to warm up.

Watch the latest live and local weather data below, streaming on WSFA Weather Now! Please note that this stream does not include live severe weather coverage, only data on the latest weather conditions.

Temperatures will begin to rebound on Sunday and as we move into next week. Highs will return to the 60s and 70s, with overnight lows in the 40s and 50s. This warm-up precedes our next storm system which will bring rain back to the state.

We then give an early warning, as rain appears to be coming the day before Thanksgiving, a very busy travel day, and Thanksgiving Day itself is quite wet. Something we’ll be watching closely as forecast data unfolds throughout the week and into the next.

Tropics Tracking: No areas of interest are currently monitored by the National Hurricane Center. Hurricane season officially ends on November 30.
