Sunny, cool and windy Friday

HUNTSVILLE, AlabamaWAF) – Hello and happy Friday! Clear skies and a light breeze will start the day, morning wind chills will be in the 20s and 30s, so grab a jacket when heading to work or school.

Today will be windy with wind gusts between 20 and 30 miles per hour throughout the afternoon. Expect ample sunshine all day with high temperatures remaining cool in the upper 40s to lower 50s. The pesky winds should eventually die down after sunset, leaving us clear and cold overnight, morning minimum temperatures will fall to between 30 and 33 degrees by dawn Saturday. A Frost Watch is in effect throughout North Alabama until 8:00 a.m. CST Saturday, please protect all sensitive plants and vegetation.

The weekend forecast looks excellent with lots of sunshine and less wind. High temperatures Saturday and Sunday will be between 50 and 60 degrees, with Sunday being the warmer of the two days. Skies are mostly cloudy Monday with warmer temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. Rain showers will move in late Monday night and early Tuesday morning. Tuesday looks to be partly cloudy and seasonable with cooler temperatures in the mid to upper 50s.

Most of Wednesday will be dry before a strong weather system moves in late Wednesday night into Thanksgiving Day. This system is not expected to cause severe weather, but heavy precipitation appears more likely. Please check the latest forecast schedule again for the week of Thanksgiving.
