Cool and windy day ahead with warmer weather to come this weekend

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – Happy Friday morning! It’s a cold, cold start as we finish another week. Temperatures drop again into the upper 30s and low 40s this morning under clear skies.

Expect the day ahead to remain cool with high temperatures reaching the low 50s by midday and highs only in the mid 50s. It will be a bit colder with those wind gusts reaching 20 to 25 mph at times from the northwest. Winds are expected to begin to ease later in the evening.

Tonight, temperatures drop into the 40s at kickoff under clear skies for the football playoff games. Temperatures continue to drop into the 30s Saturday morning. Frost and freeze warnings and advisories are posted on the Alabama side for these expected cold temperatures.

A little warm-up ahead for the weekend, but the mornings remain cool. Winds ease as temperatures climb to more seasonal values ​​in the 60s Saturday and Sunday.
