Frost and frost warnings Friday and Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, AlabamaWBRC) – Good morning! We have declared a First Alert Weather Day for Friday and Saturday mornings for Frost Advisories and Frost Warnings.

First Alert Weather Days Friday and Saturday morning: THE First Alert Weather Days will end at 8 a.m. each day.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen this level of cold, so be sure to bring in sensitive plants, supervise pets, and remove faucet covers. Friday the wind will be northwest between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts up to 20 and plenty of sunshine.

Expect another cold night Friday night into Saturday morning, with temperatures near freezing.

THE WEEKEND: The weekend forecast looks excellent, apart from cold mornings. The wind will be much calmer during the day, with sunshine. Highs will be in the 50s Saturday; however, on Sunday we will reach the mid 60s.

THE NEXT BIG THING there is another chance of rain by Monday and Tuesday.

A better chance of rain arrives LATE Wednesday and for Thanksgiving.

Rainfall amounts for the next seven days will be between half an inch and one inch. We’re still working to determine the exact start time, so be sure to tune in for updates. The chance of rain diminishes Friday and through Iron Bowl Saturday.
