Rutte also met with Representative Mike Waltz (R-Florida), chosen by Trump to be his national security adviser, as well as other members of Trump’s new national security team.

Waltz has previously raised concerns about U.S. military aid to Ukraine, saying Europe should increase spending.

The meeting between Rutte and Trump came as concerns grew that his second term as president could lead to a decline in support for Ukraine’s war effort.
