UAE: Sheikh Mohammed will open the session of the Federal National Council on Monday – News

An ordinary session of the UAE’s Federal National Council (FNC) will be inaugurated on Monday by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed will open the second ordinary session of the 18th legislative chapter of the FNC at the council headquarters in Abu Dhabi on behalf of President Sheikh Mohamed.

The meeting agenda includes the election of observers in accordance with council rules and the consideration of messages and recommendations related to government strategies, industrial development, public policies and legislative issues. The council will also discuss the federal budget for fiscal year 2025.

The ceremony will take place in the presence of crown princes, deputy rulers, sheikhs, senior civil and military officials and members of the diplomatic corps of the United Arab Emirates.

The council is expected to consider nine messages from Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs.

Among these messages are three messages which include the approval of the Cabinet to discuss general topics such as government policies on increasing birth rates in the country, the social support program for citizens and its impact on low-income groups. income, and strengthening the role and status of the Arab state. language as the official language of the state and a fundamental element of national identity.

In addition, six messages address Cabinet decisions related to council recommendations on six general topics.

These topics include government policies on marriage standards, programs and subsidies, as well as pre-marital counseling programmes, water security, food security, Home Office policy on the fight against drugs and the policy of the Federal Tax Authority on the implementation of value-added products. tax (VAT) and excise duty.

In addition to this, the government’s strategy to develop the legislative and regulatory framework to support the industrial sector will also be discussed.
