Denver’s Infinite Monkey Theorem will close at the end of 2024

Infinite Monkey TheoremAn urban winery in Denver’s River North Arts District will close its doors permanently at the end of 2024.

After more than 15 years in Denver, the woman-owned and operated business will close its taproom at 3200 Larimer Street and cease winemaking operations Dec. 31, winery officials said in a news release.

“The path of entrepreneurship is often unpredictable, and although we have had many wins, we have also faced tough challenges that have brought us to where we are now,” Nicki McTague, President of Infinite Monkey Theorem, said in the statement. “Unfortunately, the industry has been hit hard and wine sales are falling dramatically both locally and nationally.”

With only one location and a small staff, disruption and redirection of the company was not possible, McTague said.

“We have explored every option to continue our legacy, but due to the increasing costs associated with rent, inventory and labor, there is no way our small business will be successful despite our best efforts,” McTague said.

Winery officials said Infinite Monkey Theorem’s current inventory will continue to be available in liquor stores, at the RiNo taproom and online until supplies last.

Infinite Monkey Theorem, co-founded by Ben Parsons, was one of the first urban wineries and pioneered the process of canning wine.
