Ohio State Veteran Discusses Current State of Buckeyes Defense

Pressure continues to increase for Türkiye Ohio State BuckeyesDefense as the team enters the back half of the regular season. But one key Buckeyes advocate believes the program is ready to turn a new leaf.

Senior linebacker Cody Simon he told reporters on Wednesday He said the defense used its final bye week to refocus on the final six games of the season.

“It’s definitely been a difficult week and a half. It’s a good time for us to refocus and play a cleaner game, starting with me. Of course we had some problems that we are trying to fix, but our biggest goal is to play our best football in the next 6 games.”

Simon would then go on and take responsibility for the defense when asked about his role as captain during the team hurdles.

“I feel all this pressure and blame but I feel completely responsible to lead the defence. We haven’t played to our best standards and we need to get better all the time and at every stage.”

The Buckeyes defense went up against one of the best offenses in the country in the Oregon Ducks during Week 7, giving up 496 total yards and 32 points. But Simon believes better days are ahead for the Buckeyes defense.

“Of course it starts in training and it definitely hurts even more when there is no match because you can’t change your focus. We’ve all had to deal with this defeat for a while, but we’re getting back on the field and we’ll take one step forward to continue the fight. “Our goal in the next 6 weeks is to fight and win everything.”
